Homestyle Crockpot Mashed Potatoes

I have gotten such a great response from these loaded crock-pot mashed potatoes and tons of questions about potatoes in the crock-pot in general. I cannot believe how many people have never made potatoes in the crock-pot before. Obviously, they are the best kept secret there is.

I can almost guarantee, that once you've tried them, they will become a staple in your meal planning arsenal. Why, you may ask?? They are so easy and better yet they are delicious. They use one pot, and that is the crock-pot. No transferring. No prior boiling.

Without further ado, the info:

5 lbs potatoes
1 1/2 cups water
milk, butter, salt and pepper to taste

Peel potatoes and chop them into small chunks. Add potatoes to slow cooker and add your water. Cook on low for 6 hours or on high for 3-4 hours. Once potatoes are soft, drain water. Mash quickly with a potato masher. Add in milk, butter, salt, pepper, or whatever else you like to add to your regular mashed potatoes and beat with electric mixer until they reach your desired taste and consistency. Set crock-pot to warm until you are ready to eat, then enjoy!
