Greetings my fellow pretties! I am thrilled to be guest posting today for the lovely Sarah and Jessica! I'm Meg, and I blog over at The Cool Girl. Today's agenda, DIY snow globes!!
Pre-globe making:
Put on your most festive sweater.
Let me set you up for success:
Glycerin
Distilled water
Figurine
Glitter
Jar - one that twists on really tight, so no water drips out
Glue
Optional:
Paint - to paint the lid if you like things matchy matchy.
Ribbon - to tie around the lid if you like things festive.
Let the games begin:
1. Glue the figurine to the bottom of the lid, and let it dry completely.
2. Fill up the clean jar with distilled water until it is 94% full.
3. Add glitter. Lots of glitter, if you like things wild.
4. Add about 2-3 teaspoons of glycerin to every 1 cup of distilled water.
*Glycerin helps the glitter not to fall too quickly, but too much will make it stick.
5. Twist the cap on nice and tight.
6. Shake and marvel!
*Store right side up.
This DIY was all $10
Glycerin and glitter (local craft store) for approximately $6 (check your craft store's website for coupons).
Figurine (local secondhand store) for $0.75.
One gallon of distilled water (grocery store) &0.90.
Jar (pickle jar) was free because I have been gathering them from acquaintances.
Mini glue gun (local craft store) for $2.00.
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to you all and may you have a glittery December!
