Our Week in Pins and Photographs

One of the things I am so excited about in our new house is that it has a mantle! Hooray! I have always wanted one and never had one. Ideas for decorating it abound, of course. I loved this idea I found on pinterest for fall. I frequently decorate using glass jars/vases etc. and I just love this color combo. Bonus, what a cheap and beautiful way to fill a hurricane jar.

As you all are probably tired of hearing at this point, our big beach vacation is coming up in a few weeks and I will be in a swimsuit in all my pregnant glory! Unfortunately, being pregnant doesn't give me an excuse for all the weight my legs and bum are acquiring...sigh. When I saw this on pinterest I told myself I would be doing it before the beach, wish me luck!

slimmer thighs in 3 weeks

My week has been all packing and cleaning and preparing for our big move (which isn't until next Friday). I am so excited because my mom is coming down on Monday to help me finish packing and cleaning and I feel like it's been forever since i've seen her.

Anyway, I don't have many photos from this last week so how about another throwback? My talented friend Courtney (anyone need a photographer?) took this photo of us at Sarah's wedding. I love candid photos. It seems that they capture a moment so much more effectively than posed photos do.

Happy weekend everybody!

Okay, so weird that lately Jess and my pins/photos we choose keep relating somehow before we even know it. I pinned this earlier this week. I, like probably every other girl in the world, struggle with body image issues. It's just hard sometimes. I try to keep things in perspective and realize that it's really okay to be how I am.
Can't find original source...Anyone know?
And, these look divine. This is why I can't sweat the body image thing. Because I want to eat cream cheese, avocado and salsa stuffed pastries sometimes instead of carrot sticks. I'd rather have a little junk in the trunk and get to do that.

Thanks, averie cooks!

I had such a fun week. Seriously, it was one of the best of the summer. Between last Friday and this one I attended 5 concerts. Two of which my husband played in a battle of the bands with The New Electric Sound- he only had two days to learn the songs! Oh and they won. Bonus. Then Wednesday we saw Joshua James & Book on Tapeworm at Velour-our local music venue. Thursday we saw My Morning Jacket at the Twilight Concert Series in Salt Lake and Friday was the Rooftop Concert Series in Provo with Book on Tapeworm (again) and Isaac Russell. ALL AMAZING! I highly recommend you click those links and check out the talent.

There is husband at the drums. I'm such a proud wife.

    1. Haha seriously this was our first twilight show since 2010 because of that. It's a little better now that they charge $5 instead of it being free, but 75% of the crowd still didn't seem to know there was a concert happening!
