Okay, so I have seen this magic cleaner recipe on Pinterest a few times and I am not sure which one is the original poster, but it all the posts claim that this is magical tub or shower cleaner and that will get scum off super easily. I wanted to try it. Our house is SO old and the shower/tub is in bad shape. I won't go into detail but it's impossible to get it to look clean, even if you scrub for ten hours straight. So I tried this stuff and the verdict is that I LOVE IT! I love it for the tub, shower, sink, kitchen counters, floors, everything! It works like a charm. I'm never going to buy another bottle of all-purpose cleaner again. It's so much cheaper too. Here's the how-to:
You will need:
An empty spray bottle ($1 at the dollar store)
A bottle of generic dish soap ($1.50 at the grocery store)
A bottle of distilled white vinegar ($2 at the grocery store)
A funnel - I tried without the first time and it was a mess!
Mix one part dish soap with one part vinegar in the spray bottle and give it a little shake. Have fun cleaning every surface in your house!

I've been wanting to make an all purpose cleaner for our house so we'd save some $$..does the vinegar make it smell bad? Or does the soap cleaner help? Hubby is finally ok with generic brands... and now this is the next step! :)
ReplyDeleteSara, it does smell kind of vinegar-y for a little while but the soap does help, I use apple and it makes it smell good along with the vinegar smell while you are cleaning. The vinegar smell tends to disappear in under an hour so it isn't annoying to me!
DeleteDo you have to rinse it off?
ReplyDeleteI do not rinse it! It just cleans like a normal cleaner would, comes out in a pretty thin stream and I have not noticed any leftover residue or anything.
