I love recipes that are semi home made, meaning that they start with some kind of box or can, but after a few adjustments taste like you spent hours. This baked beans recipe is one of those, I always loved when my mom made these.
I'm warning you, this recipe will feed a crowd, so if it's for a small group you might want to half it!
Recipe:
4 cans baked beans
1 small yellow onion
1 tbs. Worcestershire sauce
6 pieces crumbled bacon or a bunch of bacon bits
2 tbs. mustard
1/4 c. ketchup
Cut yellow onion up small and process in a food processor or blender. Mix all ingredients together and pour into a 9 x 13 inch pan. Bake at 300 degrees for 1 hour, uncovered. The top will be a bit caramelized and delicious looking when you are through.
Hope this will be an easy side for all your summer BBQ's.

You have my mouth watering! I'd love this right now!
ReplyDeleteYum! What size can of baked beans do you use??
ReplyDeleteWe love these, too. I have the very same recipe. I made a large bowl for friends this last weekend...Awesome..
ReplyDeleteOver from World Cuter...:)
Jessica,
ReplyDeleteAside from the Worcestershire sauce, this is the way my mom made baked bean growing up. I love onions, so I usually dice by hand, since I don't the larger size. But I haven't made this in forever -thanks for the reminder.
I followed you over from the Sundae Scoop linky party. I would love if you stopped by my blog.
Thanks for sharing,
Laura
My bean cans are 20oz. each. 4 cans seems like an army-sized batch. I think even for 14 people I'm cutting it in half. Sounds delicious, though, and I'm sure it will be a hit for the 4th tomorrow!
ReplyDeleteLOVE beans in the summertime!! :) Thanks for linking up to "Strut Your Stuff Saturday!" Hopefully we'll see you tomorrow at 8pm MDT for this week's party! :) -The Sisters
ReplyDeleteWe love baked beans around here and I already have two different recipes on my blog and now it looks like I'll be trying to make it three :) Thanks for sharing at Creative Thursday.
