Scrabble Fridge Magnets

I have wanted magnetic fridge letters forever! The ones you buy at the store are such poor quality though, they always fall off and they take up so much space. Then inspiration hit me... Scrabble magnets!! I was so excited, I literally went to the thrift store at least once a week looking specifically for Scrabble with no luck. Then, lo and behold, I found one last weekend at a garage sale for .25c! Forgive all the exclamation marks, I'm a little bit stoked over this still.

Here's what you will need:

-Scrabble letters
-magnets (I used old ones I had, like ones you would get in the mail, making them free!)
-double stick tape or hot glue
-scissors

After your area is all set up, dump out your pieces...

Then cut up your magnets to fit the back of your scrabble squares.

Stick the picture sides of your magnets to the blank sides of your scrabble squares with your tape or glue. Repeat for all squares...

Now go stick them on your fridge, so easy right??

Another great thing about using Scrabble pieces is that you have just the right amount of each letter for awesome messages, and even a few blanks if you need them :).

We have been having so much fun with it, and I still can't believe it only cost me .25c total! Good luck with yours!

  3. Just saw this on pinterest and pinned and followed the link to of course this lovely site. This would be a perfect graduation gift for people going to college, dorm fridges are always bare and even apartment ones are too! Love it thanks! also inspires for other creative ideas like adding pictures to little wood pieces and adding a magnet to it!

    Love it!

  7. I echo Michelle. We're both HUGE fans and now that we have 3 children we could play more often with it on the fridge. I'd love for oyu to link this up to my party tomorrow @

  18. I am so totally loving this. I've thought about it before but never taken the time to make it happen...I even have an old Scrabble game because I bought a new anniversary edition in a fancy tin box with a spinning board!!! That left me with our old game to do with what I want. Thanks for reminding me :)
