2. "L", "U", "K", "E" fabric letters in frames:
The inspiration for these letters was that I had 4 empty white frames and I didn't know what to put in them, haha. I wanted them to match his room, so I ended up turning to my favorite thing-- the fabric scraps.
-First cut the background pieces to be the right size to fit the frames you have on hand.
-Then draw and cut out the fabric letters (I just eyeballed mine).
-Top stitch around each letter. I did mine in individual "strips" So the K was really three rectangles laid at the right angles, and I top stitched them each individually. This also made it really easy to cut out the letters without tracing!
-If wrinkly, iron your finished fabric picture.
-Stick finished products in frames and hang. So easy!
We also painted his room a light blue, but we have
since moved and haven't been able to paint his new room *sighs. Maybe one day?
Stay tuned next week for the final Luke's nursery post!

3. Curtain:
One of my parents neighbors gave this curtain to my mom
in case I wanted it. Yes, please and thank you!
I thought it was cute
and it matched okay, but it needed something to really tie it in to the
room. I (yet again) dug out my fabric scraps. I thought about doing
maybe a car or some other decal but eventually decided to keep it simple
and do a stripe across the bottom of the curtain.
I didn't have a scrap
even close to long enough to go across the whole thing so I decided on
the width I wanted and then sewed a whole bunch of little pieces
together. After I had my long strip assembled I folded in the edges and
ironed them for a nice clean look, then I top stitched around the whole
stripe.
| Such bad lighting...sorry. |
